Making sense of chaos

chaos

Our world seems to be turning upside down. What we thought we knew was simply fantasy. Control was but an illusion.

Nothing has really changed, we are just being exposed to the harsh realities of the world. We are small and rather insignificant in the ultimate vastness of the universe. Which is why our own personal universe of friends and family becomes so important.

In this time of uncertainty, when we feel as if control has been lost, it is important to practice acceptance. Acceptance is not love or compassion or passivity. It is a choice. A choice to no longer reject reality. For our belief about what should or should not be happening does not change what is happening.

Choosing to accept reality does not equal acceptance but it puts you on the path. And the path is all we have. We will never know the destination and we most likely can’t control where we end up. But we can choose to march down the road of acceptance rather than the street that rejects reality. For only reality can help us to open our eyes to the truth of the universe. If our goal is ultimate awareness than radical acceptance is a necessary step.

Be cautious. Be aware. Be vigilant in your actions. But accept that this is reality. And take those steps that will keep you and your loved ones safe.

Today is a bit of departure from my normal posts in order to congratulate my friend Rebecca Lorch on her big victory at America’s Strongest Woman last weekend. I am so proud of her hard work and determination and can’t imagine a better post for #motivationmonday.

Prior associations are strong. It's hard to see the "new" version of ourselves when everything else is the same.
