Sherpa thoughts…

The coach-client relationship should be one of partnership. My job is to help guide you on a path of self leadership, not to judge your effort or outcome.

We all want positive reinforcement. It feels good, knowing we’ve done a “good” job. But the coach-client relationship isn’t employment. You don’t have a “job”. Your coach isn’t your employer. My role as a coach is that of facilitator.

How can I help you be the best version of you? And there’s no better expert on you than you.

When engaging in that coach-client relationship, remember this. And remember that you’re not there to please your coach or to gain their approval. If they’re a good coach, those things are implied just by you showing up as your authentic self. Struggles, difficulties, or “falling off track” will never be met with disapproval but rather curiosity. Relationships are the bedrock of everything in our lives. They are the foundation upon which my coaching methodologies are built. If we can create better relationships, with ourselves and others and behaviors, we will be on the path to whatever success means.

Freedom is not a state; it is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau where we can finally sit down and rest. Freedom is the continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society." -John Lewis
