Be wary of absolutes

Many out there will proclaim to know the secrets. Of fat loss or restraint of self discipline. Usually because they themselves have been successful in one small area. Be cautious of these people. They mean well but their lack of in depth understanding of these subjects clouds their vision.

While the basics will absolutely work for everyone, not everyone is ready for what we consider basics. Counting macros or calories, while important for a cognitive understanding of food environment, may actually work against some people.

If you haven’t developed a healthy relationship with food, all the fat loss in the world will be for naugt. We, as humans, are chasing happiness. And that won’t come from weight loss. It comes from our relationships. Even the ones with food.

Look inside. Counting and learning are important. But they are just pieces of the frame of our structure. Without the foundation it’s flimsy and weak and can fall apart at any time. Build your foundation deep and strong, and you’ll have a structure that can weather any storm.
